You can receive posts by either individual email or digest but you are not able to reply by using the "Reply" button in your email software. Instead, there is a link in the email (one for individual emails, one for each post in the digest) which will take you to the board where you post a reply. It takes you directly to the reply text box so you do not have to look at the rest of the board if you do not want to. You can simply type your message and click "Send" to post your reply.
To receive notifications of new posts you have to have the appropriate forum ticked as a watched forum.
To set up your account to receive posts by individual email or daily digest, do the following:
- Click on the "My Account" button at the top of the page
- Click on the "Watched Forums" tab
- Check either "Posts as they come in" or "Daily Digests"
- Check the forums from which you would like to get emails or digests
To stop receiving posts, unselect all forums
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save"
You will then begin receiving either individual emails or daily digests, depending on which option you chose. When you open these emails, you will see the messages that were posted as well as a link. Click on this link which will take you to the text box in which you can type your reply. When you are finished, click the "Send" button below the text box.
If you are not receiving your Daily Digests:
: please check that you have provided the correct email address.
: Please check your Bulk Mail or spam folder
: The digest emails may be too large for your ISP to handle correctly.
ie. you may need to change your ISP
or: request "posts as they come in" from the watched forums as they may be small enough to be received.
or: uncheck the "Watched Topics" or "Watched Forum/s" and save... and then re-check and re-save.

Notifications of reply re Topics you have posted or replied to:
- Click on the "My Account" button at the top of the page
The Topics in your account are those from which you will receive notifications when there has been a reply posted there.
- Click the preferences tab:
- check or uncheck this option: | Always notify by e-mail when replies posted to topics you participated in.
- click save.
- If you have replied to a Topic that you do not wish to be notified of replies: check this button in the lower left hand corner of the page. Unwatch Topic
June 2007:
Many Members are having the problem of not receiving Notification emails or Digests since the Board upgrade. We are asking Members to re-save their watched forums and their profile.
When resaving your profile: there is an additional check box to check:
Please confirm your age: *
Are you 13 years of age or older?

Be aware that anyone who receives posts by email may not get a revised version if the poster subsequently edits their post.
If you are getting daily digests, you will get the revised version if the revision is made before midnight.
If you get individual emails, you will receive only the original post.

How do I receive or stop receiving Notifications of posts
such as "Member ... has posted a reply to topic "etc etc etc". There might be other replies however you will not receive separate notifications for them."
As this notice says: you will not necessarily be notified of each separate reply, and not usually notified when you are active in that thread.
Notifications of posts may occur because you have replied to this post previously.
If you do or dont want notifications of replies to Topics you have replied to:
you go to my account button at the top of the page,
and then to the preference tab.. and
accordingly check or uncheck this box which says >>>
Always notify by e-mail when replies posted to topics you participated in.
and press SAVE.
and CHECK Topics listed in your Watched topics:
You will still receive email notifications for those Topics listed in your Watched Topics list.
To make changes or to add Topics to your watched Topics List:
- for any one topic you do or do not want to be notified of replies:
you click on the particular topic listed and check or uncheck the *un/watch this topic* box at the bottom left of the page.
re Watched Forums Tab:
Check the Forums from which you wish to receive Notification
and check E-mail me: Posts as they come in x or Daily digests x
Saving the website to open on recent is a handy way of checking for new posts.

| If you have recently opened your "watched topic" to post or check it, you may not receive a notification re a new post.

If you have an AOL email address,
you may need to let AOL know and or use a different email address here to receive your notifications.
For some time AOL Members are reporting that the AOL spam filter hasnt been letting the Board emails in.
