Welcome to Marshallprotocol.com!
MarshallProtocol. com is a professional, medical website created by the Autoimmunity Research Foundation to educate health professionals about Th1 inflammatory diseases and how to treat them with the Marshall Protocol (MP) designed by Dr. Trevor Marshall, PhD and to conduct a clinical study of the MP.
The site provides accurate, up-to-date information about the pathogenesis of chronic, degerative inflammatory diseases, related scientific issues and implementation of the Marshall Protocol. Members of the study cohort receive ongoing counseling during their recovery from their inflammatory diseases.
All medical decisions are made by a member's primary care provider. Dr. Marshall and his Staff serve only in an advisory capacity.
If you have questions about Th1 inflammatory diseases or the Marshall Protocol, please visit our website with a message board where your questions will be answered by members with extensive MP experience. Go to http://CureMyTh1.org, register the same username you have used here and click on **Ask your Questions in Here** to post your message.
Study Site Policies
In order to keep our discussions focused on our purpose and maintain a high degree of medical professionalism, we have some important policies. Please familiarize yourself with them before using the study site.
We are very fortunate to have Dr. Marshall's active participation on this study site when his busy schedule permits. All Staff have 24/7 access to Dr. Marshall's expertise and consult him about questions as the need arises.
-Please be patient if your question is not answered immediately. MP.com is staffed entirely by volunteers who are in varying stages of recovery. Their time, energy and availability may be limited. We endeavor to answer questions 24 hours a day as quickly as possible.
-Be sure to notify Staff before you take any action that is unfamiliar to you. Staff usually respond within a few hours but we ask members to give us more than a day to answer time sensitive questions.
-Members must not act in a manner prejudicial to good order and discipline of the study cohort.
-Do not discuss medically inconsistent hypotheses, however widely accepted those hypotheses might be. We deal with scientific concepts which are based on the best modern medical genomics, not conjecture, and the Marshall Protocol is a thoroughly researched and proven treatment plan. Dr. Marshall does not engage in debate about its merits with nonprofessional members. Scientific discussion is reserved for the Medical Professsionals forum and Dr. Marshall's Perspective forum.
-Treat all Staff, health care professionals and members who visit this site with respect.
-Posts which are merely speculative; challenge the authenticity of our scientific research; are skeptical or taunting in nature; are inaccurate, misleading or disrespectful of the moderators will not be tolerated and will be edited or deleted.
When a post is deleted, the posting member is notified. If appropriate, s/he then has the opportunity to post their message again in the appropriate manner. Members who continue to flaunt the rules may be banned from posting. Moderators may edit, delete, or add supplemental information to a members post for the benefit of all. A byline may in some cases indicate the post has been edited.
-If you want to edit or delete a post after the eight hour member time limit, please ask Staff to do this for you via private message.
-Do not send your questions to Dr. Marshall or Staff by email or private message. Please ask all of your pre-MP questions at http://CureMyTh1.org. If you are on the MP ask questions in your progress report. The Staff all work on a voluntary basis and are recovering on the MP as well, so are working at full capacity and do not have time for counseling via email, phone or private message. This is beneficial for all as others reading will gain from the answers. (If your question is of an intimate nature that you would find embarrassing to post, you may send a PM to a Staff member.)
-Before you ask a question, spend some time looking through the Essential Information About the Marshall Protocol forum, the Marshall Protocol FAQs, the side topics forum or doing a word search. Most questions have already been asked and answered.
-If you are able, you can find info quickly and help our overburdened small staff of volunteers by independantly trying to locate basic information using the ABC of MP or searching the site or typing key words into the google custom search feature before you ask a question.
-Due to the large volume of messages posted, Moderators may miss some questions. Please report any oversights to Staff via a PM.
-Please do not double post either on this Board or by posting essentially similar questions or messages at CureMyTh1.org. Both websites are watched by the same moderators.
-Members are cautioned about getting information/advice from other members off the board via PM or email. Although the Marshall Protocol may initially seem rather simple, it is fairly complex and takes quite some effort to fully understand. We urge everyone to post all of their questions on the Board to make sure that they receive accurate answers and proper guidance by Staff.
-The "Urgent Problems Only" forum is for posting questions about urgent problems only, such as cardiac arrhythmia or difficulty breathing. You may post there only if you are on the Marshall Protocol and after, and only after, you have called your health care provider. All Board Staff are immediately alerted by email when someone posts in this forum so we can answer your question as soon as possible.
-Do not post messages whose sole purpose is to provide emotional support to another member. These messages may be deleted. Health Professionals who visit our website do not have time to read these messages and they have advised us that they make our website appear less professional. It is fine to include a brief message of support in an otherwise informative post. Send all personal messages via the private message system or email. You can get support for dealing with emotional issues at MP-Lifestyles.org which is for general discussion about Lifestyles and science-related issues that are not appropriate at this study-site. MP members can post there (use your same username and password as here).
-For personal or off-topic discussions with other members, use the Private Message function or email by clicking on a member's name. We understand that you may need emotional support so we encourage you to contact other members who might provide that for you.
-When posting medical abstracts or articles, post only the URL address and a brief description, not the entire publication.
-Staff will not mediate disputes between members. If someone says something on the Board which upsets you, please communicate directly by private message or email with that member to resolve any misunderstandings. If necessary, agree to disagree. Do not respond on the Board.
-Do not post Doctors' names in your message. This is to protect their privacy. To provide information about a Doctor using the Marshall Protocol, please contact Staff.
-Do not post your email address or telephone number and do not include them in your signature line. You may make your email address visable to other members in your account by checking the box located in your profile.
Privacy
There is no expectation of privacy for any messages you post at MarshallProtocol.com. Personal and private information should not be posted on a publicly accessible website. Per our privacy policy, we can make no guarantee of security for anything you post here. Indeed, all the world can read what you post in these open forums. Later, when you progress to Phases 2/3 we try to provide a little privacy, but even then we can make no guarantees.
If you feel that your personal health history is sensitive, and you feel that the username you are using does not provide sufficient anonymity, then please do not join the study cohort. Everything we do here is based on free and open interchange of information between the study participants.
Thank you,
Study Site Management
